Britannia Ball 2011

Britannia Ball 2011 More about the causes that the Britannia Ball supports:

The main fund-raising aim of the Britannia Ball is to raise funds to support the Anglican Church in Romania. In line with the Church’s charitable objectives, we also donate part of the profits we make from ticket sales to Casa Ioana – a Romanian charity that supports homeless families in Bucharest.

The Anglican church in Bucharest, called The Church of the Resurrection, is self financing and has to supplement donations from its congregation in order to safeguard its future. Last year we were delighted to have sufficient funds to redecorate the inside of the church. In the future, we need to raise and put funds aside for maintenance to the roof, the heating and electrical systems. The Britannia Ball and the British Summer Garden Party are our main annual fundraising events which we hope are also memorable social events for Bucharest’s British Community and their international friends.

Casa Ioana is a Romanian charity founded by Ian Tilling MBE. The Charity offers homeless families temporary shelter and professional support to get back to work and into affordable accommodation. We are delighted to be supporting Ian’s hard and much needed work. Visit their website at www.casaioana.org to find out more.
